CCA, in partnership with the Construction Sector
Council, has released its annual 5-year economic and
employment forecast for the Canadian construction
industry. For the first time, data for the forecast was
provided to CCA as a result of the Labour Market
Information initiative established by the CSC last
year.
The data suggests that the non- residential construction sector and the residential sector will experience very different results in 2006. In this year, investment in non-residential construction is expected to grow by 7.2%, almost equal the 7.4% growth recorded in 005. For residential construction, 2006 will mark another drop, with a decline in investment of 1.1%, fresh on the heels of investment decline of 1.6% in 2005. Overall, investment in the Canadian construction industry is expected to grow by 3.4% in 2006. In 2007, a gradual cooling in construction investment is expected. |

Deep Thoughts, by Jack Handey!
"Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself. Mankind. Basically, it's made up of two separate words---'mank' and 'ind'. What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind." |
