CCA, in partnership with the Construction Sector Council, has released its annual 5-year economic and employment forecast for the Canadian construction industry. For the first time, data for the forecast was provided to CCA as a result of the Labour Market Information initiative established by the CSC last year.

The data suggests that the non- residential construction sector and the residential sector will experience very different results in 2006. In this year, investment in non-residential construction is expected to grow by 7.2%, almost equal the 7.4% growth recorded in 005. For residential construction, 2006 will mark another drop, with a decline in investment of 1.1%, fresh on the heels of investment decline of 1.6% in 2005. Overall, investment in the Canadian construction industry is expected to grow by 3.4% in 2006.

In 2007, a gradual cooling in construction investment is expected.

Humour
Deep Thoughts, by Jack Handey!

"Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself. Mankind. Basically, it's made up of two separate words---'mank' and 'ind'. What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind."

From everyone at Infinite Source,

We wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
